Raymond Aaron - The MTO Method of Goal Setting
Posted by Reinecke Jesslyn on August 31st, 2009 filed in Goal SettingCanadian Raymond Aaron is acknowledged as one of the top success coaches in the world. He is credited with helping people from all walks and with different life goals, learn how to achieve those goals.
Aaron is held in such high regard that Australian internet marketer, James Schramko, changed his travel plans (he was speaking at StomperNet Live in Atlanta), to include a visit to Toronto in order to meet with him. James has always included ‘mindset’ in all of his workshops and courses, because he knows its importance to success. So that he could deliver this message in a more meaningful way, he recorded his conversation with Raymond.
Firstly, Raymond Aaron wanted to say that words like “the secret” and “abundance” are not airy-fairy, lovey-dovey throw-away concepts. He believes and has proven many times, that by invoking the law of attraction, positive things happen.
By setting realistic and achievable goals you are more likely to reach them, and the more you do this, the better you feel about yourself. When this happens, the law of attraction comes into play. When you feel good, you send out positivity, and you receive it in return.
Now setting goals is Raymond Aaron’s specialty. He tells us that most people set goals for things they are not competent. They are doomed to failure before they start. This is why he has developed what he has patented and copyrighted as The MTO Method. “MTO” stands for Minimum Target Outrageous – the three levels of goal-setting that he teaches.
For instance if your goal is to do 30 sit-ups a day and you currently do no exercise, then you will likely fail – and feel bad, and give up. However, using Aaron’s MTO Method you would set your goals:
The Minimum should be very achievable. Say, one sit-up.
The Target should be possible. Say 5 sit-ups.
The Outrageous is real air-punching stuff. It might be 30 sit-ups.
In this example, meeting your Minimum goal should be easy, and once done you feel good. You will probably feel so great that the Target is also within you reach. If you decide to reach that goal as well, you feel sensational. After you have reached this Target, you will see that the Outrageous goal is within your reach as well.
